I completely agree. I don't want to think about how many hours/days I would saved by not having to wait for my old PCs to boot/wake (though it usually did give me time to stretch or run to make some food). Macs w/o SSD boot fairly quickly as well.

Couldn't agree more. I'm running a 2.8Ghz MacBook Pro with an Intel X-25 80GB SSD. If you don't mind streaming your media (from the Net or an external drive) you won't miss the space you're accustomed to with a normal drive. The speed gains are incredible.

That's what I do. At home I have a ReadyNAS Raid connected to an Airport Extreme. Usually take some subset of music for trips.

IMHO Macs are much better than PCs. I get rid of all PCs in my house two years ago.
I will try to hack Education by opening online English Acquisition school with game based curriculum. My students will create a lot of videos, so I will strongly recommend them to use the best hardware on a market: Mac, iPod Touch and The Flip camcorder.

Couldn't agree more. I normally use my macbook w/o restarting for weeks! It feels a bit wrong coming from the Windows world. The only real problem I have is Firefox. It crashes every now and then. Looking forward to having Chrome.
Having said that,
Is the SSD worth the cost right now ? Has it improved your day to day work?

Definitely find that the SSD has improved my day-to-day work. For instance, I find that I am no longer hesitant to resort my mailbox because it is so fast.

I find one of the biggest improvements in Vista and OS X 10.5 is the speed of entering and exiting sleep states. Sleep, I believe, is the real kick in the shin for all these instant-on projects. As we move to a world of less installed junk (more activities moving into the browser) we can expect the average consumer PC to be much cleaner, and thus rely only on sleep for weeks without a restart.

Agree completely - have not had the "pleasure" of Vista but Mac is even fast when going to sleep.
